My Approach

Healing is a journey where the client plays an essential role.

Disillusioned by traditional medical approaches that merely mask symptoms, I am driven by a deeper purpose.

My passion is to alleviate discomfort while uncovering the true root causes, empowering my clients to achieve genuine, transformative healing that lasts.

My Journey

I was born and raised by my mother in West London, facing numerous challenges.

With her long working hours, I often found myself alone. This solitude led to the development of a speech impediment, which caused significant anxiety, especially during my school years and into university.

However, I persevered, excelling in academics and athletics, which fueled my determination. Unsure of my path, I chose a Business Studies course. Though it didn't ignite my passion, my strong work ethic drove me to graduate with a degree.

After three years as a marketing assistant for a photographic firm, I realized I was not following my true calling. In 1990, my best friend shared his plans to backpack around the world, inspiring me to take a leap and join him. Over nine months, we travelled through the Far East, Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and Mexico, meeting incredible people along the way, including two physiotherapists who sparked my interest in their field.

Upon returning home, I felt a renewed sense of purpose and applied to study physiotherapy. However, during the interview, I was told my speech impediment could hinder my job prospects after graduation. While this news was disappointing, it strengthened my resolve to overcome obstacles and pursue my dreams.

My Osteopathy Journey

This denial had a silver lining. Some months later, my mother returned from an appointment with an osteopath. Though I knew little about osteopathy, I felt compelled to explore this path.

I successfully applied to the British School of Osteopathic and Naturopathic Medicine in North London. School was challenging at times due to my speech impediment, yet I thrived on the knowledge I gained and loved helping others. In 1997, I proudly graduated with an honours degree in Osteopathic Medicine and a diploma in Naturopathy.

My first position was at the Aston Clinic in Southwest London, owned by the inspiring David Melrose, an osteopath, herbalist, and applied kinesiologist. Observing David's work ignited my fascination with Applied Kinesiology and the muscle testing techniques he employed.

This drove me to pursue a course at the International College of Applied Kinesiology, igniting a passionate journey with AK that continues to inspire me.

Despite facing anxiety and my speech impediment during those early years, I remained positive and found immense satisfaction in my work.

Discovering the Root Cause

I loved Applied Kinesiology (AK) so much because it opened a window into how I truly helped my clients.

Before AK, I used osteopathic techniques that benefited my clients, yet I did not clearly understand their effectiveness.

AK empowered me to grasp how these techniques worked and to delve into the deeper reasons behind my clients' physical challenges.

Over the next twelve years, I honed my AK skills, mastering the art of testing for food allergies, nutritional deficiencies, and emotional issues. I later embraced NAET Allergy Therapy, a transformative approach that combines AK and acupressure to diagnose and treat food and environmental allergies.

Running and Running Injuries

I am a passionate runner who completed the London Marathon in 2006 in 4 hours and 12 minutes.

Driven by my love for running and desire to help fellow runners, I took the "1.0 Fundamentals of Running Injuries" course with the internationally renowned Running Clinic in May 2023.

Coming to Canada

In 2003, I met Sue Taylor through an online dating website, and we were married in 2006.

A year later, we embraced adventure at an Aikido conference in Toronto. Sue's past work exchange with the Musical Ride in 1998 inspired us to visit her friends in Ottawa.

We fell in love with Ottawa—the people, the lifestyle, the opportunities, and even the weather! This desire ignited a plan. In 2009, after persevering through two years of immigration challenges, we joyfully moved to Ottawa. I was employed by the inspiring Dr. Shahram Ayoubzadeh at the Integral Health Clinic.

In 2010, Dr. Ayoubzadeh collaborated with Richard Nahas at the Seekers Centre for a year, and in 2012, the Integral Health Clinic relocated to Waverley Street. The clinic thrived, offering us invaluable experiences in running a diverse practice. We are forever grateful to Shahram for his unwavering support and for allowing us this extraordinary opportunity in Canada.

The Birth of Ottawa Holistic Wellness

Upon achieving our permanent residency in December 2013, we boldly ventured to establish Ottawa Holistic Wellness (OHW).

From that moment until the onset of the COVID shutdown, OHW flourished, growing to over 20 practitioners. However, at the end of 2019, we faced challenges with our landlord and decided to purchase a building from Shahram. We had planned to move OHW to the new space in early 2021, when our lease expired. Yet, COVID-19 and an unsupportive landlord compelled us to close the doors of OHW and transition our practitioners to the new building.

The Next Chapter

In our new space, we transformed it into a revitalized clinic, embracing the journey of reinvention. This process, while stressful, has fueled my resilience and depth. It took a toll on my mental health, leading me to take nearly two years off work.

In November 2022, I returned to work with a renewed commitment to authenticity, which has ushered in newfound joy and success.

When I am at Home

I live in the countryside with my wife, Sue.

I enjoy listening to music from the sixties and seventies, reading, savouring good food, and cherishing moments with friends and our many rescue cats. To nurture my mental health, I cultivate a daily meditation and yoga practice while drawing strength from my fantastic counsellor, John, and my shamanic healer, Jennifer. I thrive on being active, often walking the trails or skiing downhill, fully living each day with gratitude and purpose.
